Born into Mumbai’s rich musical culture, Ashwini Paranjape Ranade was raised in a family deeply rooted in devotional performance traditions. With a maternal grandfather who was a respected kirtankar and a father who continues to perform kirtans across India’s renowned temples and sacred spaces, music became an emotional and spiritual language in her life from an early age. Trained in Hindustani classical music under Pandit Manohar Joshi of the Gwalior Gharana, Ashwini has evolved into a versatile vocalist whose artistry bridges classical discipline with contemporary musical expression. Today, through original compositions, performances, and teaching, she continues to redefine Indian independent music for global audiences while preserving the soul of tradition.
